This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1985 and constitutes a technical revision.
This edition is a complete revision of the previous edition of IEC 60027-4.
This publication has been drafted in accordance with the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The list of all the parts of the IEC 60027 series, under the general title Letter symbols to be used in electrical technology, can be found on the IEC website.
This part of IEC 60027 is applicable to rotating electric machines. It gives names and symbols for quantities and units.
