When examining monstrous geographies, we encounter an Other frontier, a space that runs counter to the socially constructed space of culture that at the same time includes, overlaps, and co-occupies the cultural landscape.Niculae Liviu Gheran is working on his PhD thesis on Dystopian Monstrous Geography at the Comparative Literature Department of Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is also part of a research group at the University studying Utopias and Dystopias.Ken Monteith earned a PhD from Fordham University in 2005 and is currently a docent at the University of Amsterdam. Generally, his work investigates counter-culture social movements and includes publications on Theosophy, disability, monsters and the monstrous, as well as colonial outsiders.
