EN 1998-1: 2004 Eurocode 8 - Design of structures for earthquake resistance - Part 1: General rules, seismic actions and rules for buildings (BS EN 1998-1: 2004)

This European Standard was approved by CEN on 23 April 2004. Supersedes ENV 1998-1-1:1994, ENV 1998-1-2:1994,
ENV 1998-1-3:1995. 232p. EN 1998 applies to the design and construction of buildings and civil
engineering works in seismic regions. Its purpose is to ensure that in the event of earthquakes:
− human lives are protected;
− damage is limited; and
− structures important for civil protection remain operational.
